“Centers of Excellence” in Civics Education

Good habits like voting start early. Voterise will strengthen civics education by recognizing “Centers of Excellence” across Utah in 2016 with possible future expansion to other states. "Centers of Excellence" are schools, districts, or teachers that provide leadership and innovative and effective civics education that engages students aged 16-18 to the point where it would be UNTHINKABLE for these students not to register and vote. The idea is to identify models in civic education and encourage their broader use.

On the policy front, we will bring national and state expertise to bear on statewide efforts to strengthen civics education, partnering with national groups to highlight promising practices and state entities with a similar vision.
